This developed into a lively meeting, prompting distant memories of the joy of long lost cleaning skills - of boots and buttons and carpets and cobwebs. Of mops and buckets and all manner of polish.
Shirley entertained us all and promised more to follow. I'm sure she'll be back - there's still the laundry to cover!

REPORT: OCTOBER 20th 2009: "Show & Tell"

This brought many surprises and much hilarity.
There were a wide variety of stories from making lunch for Princess Anne, to talking about historic books and showing photos of bygone days at Pulham School. They said that it was an excellent meeting, they wanted more like it, and it was enjoyable, interesting and fun!
Many thanks to all those who helped make it so successful.

Fred Howard gave a fascinating talked about how the book was compiled and printed. His PowerPoint presentation clearly illustrated how local enthusiasts teamed up, collated memories, interviews and photos of life in Pulham Market in the mid 20th century.  read more »

Report - FEBRUARY MEETING: TALES of the OLD TIME MUSIC HALL

Our February meeting was a lively one. Reminiscing over the Old Time Music Hall songs that our parents used to sing and admiring the colourful costumes and flamboyant characters stirred us into action. There was much chat about the joys and benefits of music and entertainment, especially when times are hard, which lead us into tracking down our own favourite songs and shows.  read more »
